AKCIS is a free, interactive, web-based education and career planning tool which helps students identify their interests, explore career pathways, and begin to make their own Personal Learning and Career Plans. The AKCIS Jr. Implementation Plan offers 3 models to meet the needs of teachers with varying schedules for AKCIS activities. Many activities are designed to be completed online, with others available as printable worksheets. AKCIS is a partnership between the Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education and Alaska Department of Labor & Workforce Development.

Alaska Business Week (ABW) is a one-week summer program teaching Alaskan high school students the basics of business, leadership and entrepreneurship. Participants live on a college campus, and work as teams in a dynamic business simulation with the guidance of a mentor from the business community. After completing the program, students have a competitive edge on workplace readiness, college preparation, and overall life success. ABW gives participants the tools they will need to succeed after their high school graduation.

Alaska Performance Scholarship
High school students can earn thousands of dollars to help pay for enrollment in a post-secondary institute after graduation. A combination of high school GPA and score on SAT/ACT or WorkKeys exam will determine eligibility. The award must be used at participating Alaskan institutions. Please contact your school counselor for more information regarding eligibility.
