Welcome to the CTE Dorms!
Maurice McGinty cuts the ribbon at the grand opening of the CTE Dorms —a vision he shared with Fred Bifelt of Huslia and Late Wilmer Beatus of Hughes. Together, their vision is expanding into reality with the Dorms opening to help spread Career and Technical Education opportunities across the Doyon region and to our River and Homeschool students. The Open House was a tremendous success, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to all CTE employees who made the evening possible. We were honored to welcome partners from across the region, including representatives from state offices, Doyon, TCC, AIDEA, labor organizations, school districts, and our YKSD Board members. A 25-minute presentation by Andrea Nield, Fred Bifelt, Maurice McGinty, and Dave Foshee highlighted the CTE department, the new dorms, and our vision for expanding programs to serve students throughout the Interior. Guests then toured the facilities, met instructors, and visited program stations coordinated by Jocelyn Patsy. Student photos, program information, and new promotional posters—printed by George Merritt on our state-of-the-art Roland printer—were showcased throughout the space. We are grateful for the partnerships that continue to strengthen our CTE mission and help us prepare students for future career pathways.
